Friends of the Nation in collaboration with the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED) will be hosting a 4-day multi-stakeholder dialogue on Artisanal and Small Scale Mining (ASM) in the Western Region of Ghana in January 2016.

As part of this process we held uni-stakeholder meetings with various stakeholders to support the design and implementation of an effective formalisation strategy for the Ghanaian ASM sector.

Stakeholders engaged included the Ghana National Association of Small-Scale Miners (GNASSM), Accra Mining Network, Minerals Commission, Lands Commission, Environmental Protection Agency, Geological Survey Department, Precious Mineral and Marketing Company and Ministry of Food and Agriculture
