Friends of the Nation under the USAID – US Agency for International Development Sustainable Fisheries Management Project engaged officers from coastal Institutions and Agencies, District Police and Districts Assemblies along the entire coast line. The meeting discussed the State of Ghana Fisheries, The Fisheries Management Plan and why the need for Closed Season (August 7 – September 4, 2018).

At the end of the meeting the over 100 participants appreciated and accepted the Closed season and pledged their active suppport. The Assemblies representatives agreed to engaged the various assembly members and fisher groups to support the Closed Season.

The coastal Police demanded for joint operation with the Marine Police and FEU for enforcement of the Closed season.
