In May 2010, FoN facilitated a study to United States of America. Participants from Ghana included traditional leaders and civil society actors. The purpose of the study tour was to learn lessons from the BP oil spill off the Gulf of Mexico. Participants interacted with regulatory agencies, civil society actors and oil companies. Experiences from this study tour equipped participants to sustain advocacy and dialogue in Ghana through the establishment of platforms such as Platform of Coastal Communities.
